WASHINGTON, NOV. 15, 2007 - "We witnessed this year an unprecedented recall of children's products, especially toys, largely due to lead paint," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Ranking Member of the Commerce, Trade & Consumer Protection Subcommittee. "One of my primary concerns is that these products made it so far into the market before they were recalled. This legislation takes several significant steps in addressing the problems and in providing reasonable certainty that toys and products will arrive in our stores and homes free of lead paint."
