OCALA, May 2, 2008-- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors is endorsing Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala) for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives. “It is the Chamber’s goal to help elect a pro-business Congress and work diligently in the interests of businesses large and small to advance legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation and a less intrusive federal government,” stated Thomas Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “At no other time in our nation’s history has it been more critical that Members of Congress provide leadership that protects advances the interests of the business community. We believe that your election to the U.S. House will help produce sustained economic growth and promote America’s competitiveness in world markets.”

“In these troubled economic times, it is essential to pursue pro-growth policies that will create new jobs and rekindle an expanding economy,” said Stearns. “My background as a business owner gives me helpful insight in addressing the needs of our business community, and I deeply appreciate the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as I seek re-election in the Sixth Congressional District.”
