OCALA, NOV. 3, 2008 – The Florida Times-Union published a list of its endorsed candidates called "Our picks." The Florida Times-Union picked Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala) for the Sixth Congressional District of Florida. The newspaper stated, "Republican Cliff Stearns more accurately represents his conservative district than his more liberal opponent… Especially on the Iraq war, [his opponent embraces] the more liberal wing of the Democratic Party."
