STEARNS RE-ELECTED BY 61 PERCENT OF THE VOTERS "I am grateful to the voters of the Sixth Congressional District for re-electing me to represent them in Congress," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala). "I ran on my strong record of accomplishments throughout the District and I am honored that my constituents expressed their approval of this record. I look forward to building on these successes and to continuing to provide strong, independent leadership in Congress. I also want to continue to work on the nation's top priorities: achieving energy independence, re-vitalizing the economy, and solving the crisis in the financial markets."
Stearns was re-elected by a strong majority of 61 percent in a difficult climate for incumbents. "I appreciated the chance to meet with voters and to hear their concerns," added Stearns. "I have held some 540 town meetings, and I look forward to maintaining this accessibility and demonstrating my accountability to those I represent."
